This and That

I need to win the award for the bad girl this month. I have been slammed with work, kids and general laziness when it comes to blogging.
So on with my merry self. I will merely blog for the 5 people that come and say HI! I do appreciate you five. HUGS!
Ok so what’s been up in this household. Besides the fact that tonight I went outside in the blasting snow and walked practically into a 5 point buck explains how things have been. The buck just looked at me with disgust and did his business in my flower bed. ACH. So I have fertilizer for next year.
Have you that are parents ever have one of those embarrassing moments with your children? I can officially say that my son gets the best of me. Our friends have the last name of Keinitz (pronounced KEENITZES) He thought I introduced their last name as PEEENISSES. He blurted out…”THAT’S A TERRIBLE LAST NAME! WHY WOULD SOMEONE NAME THEIR LAST NAME PPEEEENNISSSEESS!!!!!!!!!!!!! Needless to say I could have melted into the floor.
Anyway Hula Girl got the lead girl in her school play. This is different because she’s only a fourth grader. I mean it’s great I just expected her to get chorus. I know she’s good but it’s somehow different when someone else sees it. They are doing “Patch The Pirate Goes Out West!” She will be Sissy the pirate’s parrot. I’m proud of her.
Hugs and kisses and hope the holiday was smashing for you as well.

5 Things Lamaze Did For Me

1 - Helped me breathe in and out when my children were driving me to insanity. (in through the nose, out through the mouth)

2 - Kept me from hypervenhilating when the cat vomited on the floor…yet again. (panting in through the nose, out through the mouth)

3 - Put me in my “happy place” when getting shots, or blood drawn. (starting to build intensity)

4 - Helped me deal with anxiety when anyone else is behind the wheel but me. (In through the nose out through the mouth so hard that my nostril flatten to my nose)

5 - Calmed me down when I would go to balance the checkbook and find that I did not have all the receipts. (breathe with me….HEE HEE HEE HEE HEE HEE HEE) (transitional breathing worked the best here)

The one thing it didn’t do…..help me through labor. I guess I did not have it perfected quite yet.

Doggie Tales

Yesterday I decided to take the dog with us to pick the children up from school. She does not go with me often because she gets so excited that she whines all the way there until all the children are accounted for.
Let me first explain. We rescued her from a puppy rescue. The puppy rescue got a call from a person that was going to drown the puppies. They immediately went 200 miles and picked up 8 puppies. Simultaneously, HG was about 4 years old HH and her took me out for a drive. Amazingly enough we ended up in front of a puppy rescue that was about 30 miles away.
Let me also say that I have been opposed to animals. I did not want to have to care for animals and children. I did not feel I had time for both. Now granted we had an old cranky cat already. We also had a fish from a “Christmas present” from a friend. (side note to all….NEVER give animals for Christmas to someone that isn’t an animal person) That was more than enough for me. I never grew up with a dog and never really liked dogs. I think that came from a bite to the face when I was 8. (no I did not antagonize the dog)
We looked into all of the cages. Then HG stopped in front of a cage full of fluffy black and white puppies. There was one that came right up to the fence and started licking her. It was love at first lick. I was not that easy to convince. I knew that I would have one more child to take care of. I was actually afraid of this small hyper jumping animal. They convinced me and we paid the $90.00 donation. We were the proud owners of what we thought would be a smallish border collie mixed with something else.
Seventy pounds later we are the proud owners of Macy Mae. She is a mother hen of a dog. She herds the children as if she was herding sheep. They have decided that she is mixed with German Shepperd. Honestly, I can not imagine my life without this hyper, crazy, butt sniffing pooch.
To think now that someone would try to take the life of these little animals just shocks me still. Thank you anonymous for not drowning the precious puppies. We have ourself a dog that fits with our family.

Love in plaid pj’s

Since Finland, Hula Boy has had this obsession with sleeping nak*d. I thought it was just a phase and would go away. Nope…not happening. We’ve talked about how winter is coming up and how I don’t want him to get cold at night. He insists that sleeping in the buff is way more fun than pj’s.
For Christmas every year we get the children Christmas pj’s so that Christmas morning when they wake up they are in their fun plaid pj’s. It’s just something fun. I picked up the kiddos pj’s last night. I was going to save them until Christmas Eve. HH found them in the bag. He asked me why I got him pj’s because he likes to sleep nak*d. I informed him that I could not have Christmas morning pictures with him in the buff. What kind of tradition would that be. what kind of nightmares would that be for the rest of us!
He finally consented that for the Christmas pictures he would wear clothes but before and after that it would be na*ed city.
Please tell me this is just a phase!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Vegas Wrap Up

Vegas was a blast. We had a great time of just being together. I think I got a little spoiled with all the attention. I decided to be a big spender and do the penny slots. I won 125.00 in pennies. I couldn’t believe it. Then I won 250.00 in craps. Granted the original $40.00 investment taken from that was pretty small in comparison.
I got home and Hula Boy was confused. He didn’t understand why HH and I needed to have some alone time. Alone time generally includes him. Such a nut.
That’s pretty much the wrap up from the weekend. It was fun and exciting. I’m glad to be home.
