Power Pack Slap
Early last week we discovered HB had an obsession for his imaginary Power Pack. I loved flying around the house and exploring thing from his angle. Yesterday the power pack took on a new form. He discovered there was a method in which to put on the power pack. The conversation went like this!
Him: ” MOMMY you need help putting on your power pack?”
Me: “..um…SURE!”
*SMACK IN THE CROTCH* I bent over to catch my breath at the unexpected smack!
Him: “NOW you need to tie it here and HERE!”
*He proceeded to smack me on both of my breasts and HARD. I stood up in shock*
He ran around the back side of me and smacked me on the rear end.
“THERE YOU ARE POWERED UP!”
I would say yes I am powered up! I think he hit every sensitive area on my body! Now that that is covered I am ready to roll.
*side note…yes for those that wonder I did explain to him that girls have sensitive parts on their bodies too and that we do not hit!!
Playing Hooky

JUST TALKIN
Normally we don’t play hooky. Normally every Sunday we all shuttle ourselves to church. This is our normal routine. This week is the exception to every rule.
We woke up late. At least we thought we woke up late. The night before last neither one of us got any sleep until 3:30 (and no get your mind out of the gutter we were talking!!) Then the little girl who was staying with us suddenly got home sick, then had a allergic reaction to our cat! I got back to bed at 4:30. We have a little bird in our house that likes to sing us awake at 6:00 every morning. Now if he was a bird I would probably set him free outside. Since he’s our son I have to show mercy and grace at 6:00!
We woke up in a scramble to make it to church by 9:00. Was not going to happen. So we are playing hooky. OH WAIT>>>>>>>the time change>>>>>>>>>>we would probably make it! We all just changed back into Jammie’s and play clothes. AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH. Oh never mind. Next week we will be back on our routine.
I’ve been tagged
I was tagged by Mrs. Diamond and so I thought I would share the fun….
NAME 5 THINGS ABOUT YOU THAT PEOPLE MAY NOT KNOW
1. I was in a heavy metal rock band in collge. We mainly did the circut here in Denver. I played keyboards as well as a back up vocalist! (if you knew me now you would find this quite funny) Yah I could even fit into the leather bikini and look SMASHING in it!
2. I have a difficult time saying the word pen*s when tellling my son is asking what it is. I think he does it to see me turn a million shades of red.
3. I had a hemmroid once and pulled the thing off because I was an idiot. Enough said!
4. I like the smell of gasoline.
5. I was a total tom boy when I was a kid. I could spit with the boys and wrestle. I LOVED Luke Skywalker. I played Star Wars even though I didn’t know what it was!
So there you have it. If Laura can talk about her ‘roids…so can I!
Cheap Entertainment

So it’s been an interesting week. We have been without water for 2 days now. Thank heavens I’m prepared for this kind of stuff. The main water line broke down the street. They have it all torn up to get it repaired.
We spend the better part of yesterday looking out the window and seeing all the big trucks tearing up the street. Then today they found the leak, fixed the pipe and are now burying it. Water in T minus 2 hours at the most. HB has been mezmorized by the dump trucks and tractors. He hasn’t wanted to leave his perch on the big chair.
I didn’t realize entertainment could be this cheap!
Power Up
Last night HB came up to me and yelled. “ARE YOU POWERED UP MOMMY??!!” I looked at him confused. We do not watch any power stuff on TV. I am not familiar with a power pack but I played along. I got on my pretend jet pack and looked at him for direction on what I was suppose to do. We flew around the house and the fizzled out. We started to cuddle and then he threw up his arm and yelled, “I POWERED UP! LET’S GO!” He jumped out of my arms and ran around the house again.
Is there an off button for the power pack or better yet I’ll steal his power pack and get a TON of things done!
Living on the fly

JUST TALKIN
Sometimes as a mom I find myself living on the fly. What I mean by that is that I’m living out of my car during the days and getting home just in time to get the kiddos supper and bed at night. Flylady would be very discouraged with me right now. I just feel like I’m chasing my tail.
So today is US day. HG is going to school but HB and I are staying home and playing. I seem to have more energy after an hour of playing with him. I don’t know why that is. Now if I play for hours on end I get exhausted just keeping up with him. He’s a good boy but energetic.
Life is about balance. I certainly do not have balance right now. I am running with my hair on fire. I have not even had time to post. I made it a point to write a little today. Things will slow down.

My verbal excuse to Hula Girl for drinking the last swig out of the milk jug….”Sometimes it’s just FUN!” GEESH! What was I thinking!
Paris…a lovely reminder
Today started out as a blah day. The weather is rain mixed with snow. I generally LOVE that kind of weather but today for some unknown reason I was feeling a little witchy and blah. (ok it’s PMS) I had a ton of errands to do. I also had a friend offer to take HB so I would be able to get everything done. A day to myself. YUMMY
I started out by picking up dry cleaning, grocery story and then I stopped by the frame shop. Hubby had some chalk drawings of Brussels done while he was there. He wanted to get them all framed so we could enjoy them. I went in to pick them up because they were due today. I walked into the shop and saw this gorgeous framing of the Eiffel Tower. It took my breath away. It was several photographs taken years ago done in sepia and black and white. I was in awe.
It took me back to the summer when HH and I stole away and met in Paris. We left the children with grandparents and we spent a month touring (he also worked) and seeing family. That time together reconnected our hearts and our spirits. It was amazing.
So as I am staring with that far off look in my eyes the clerk came up and asked if she could help me. I explained that I was picking up the chalk sketches…etc. I then commented on the picture that was displayed in the front. I explained that it reminded me of our time in Europe. The picture just moved me. She looked at me in a quizzical way and asked my name. I told her. Her exact words were, “OH MY GOD, the chalk framing is not done yet. I have goose bumps. I have goose bumps!!” I thought that a little odd. Why would she have goose bumps over the framing not being done. Then she came over and stood behind the Paris framing and said, “Your husband bought this for you. He knew you would love it. He thought it would be a lovely surprise! All he could talk about was that he knew you would love it. He also said that Paris was the place you all rediscovered each other.” I suddenly felt a wave of emotion that I can not formulate words for. I started to break down in the U Frame It shop.
She explained that she had been the one to help HH the day he came in to frame the other art work. He took one look at the framing and knew that was where we reconnected. We rediscovered each other because we had been bogged down by the every day. He knew that Paris was a special place for us.
I just now hung it up in our bedroom so that every morning when I wake up I can look at the place that was like a second honeymoon for us. It awakens the sleeping mommy and brings out the loving woman that I am. I can be reminded of the infinite amount of love my husband has for me and me for him.
Thank you love. Just in case you’re reading this, you touched the deepest part of my spirit. Thank you for the beautiful gift you gave me. It is truly beyond words. With all my love. Me
Dolphins and smarter babies
I foundTHIS quite interesting this morning and may be a little bit amusing.
Ultrasonic noise may make smarter babies. I guess for me it really is not that far fetched, but the part that amuses me is that these women are getting right up close to the edge of the pool. Who’s to say they would not go in. I wonder if they have lost a few overboard? I felt like a whale when I was pregnant. I can not imagine waddling down the ramp to the waters edge , squatting down and letting the dolphin work his magic. My front side would have put me in the water without a doubt. Then I would have gone into early labor because the water was so cold.
I am not making fun of the theory, just knowing that my coordination was zilch when I was front heavy. I would have been the one screaming “MEDIC!!”

JUST TALKIN
Is it morning already? Wait I was up for 6 hours just an hour ago! It feels like a Monday!! HB decided to get out of bed and take off his pull up and put on underwear in the middle of the night. This ended in a wet bed, many tears, coughting fit (that lasted 2 hours) and one exhausted mommy. I think I’ll just go back to bed. Oh wait! HB is wired for sound! He’s doing great on 3 hours of sleep. Oh to be young again.
