Packing with children and pets
I love my children. I love my pets. Do they drive me batty when I am trying to get something accomplished? I swear they have an internal radar that pin points the moment when I am actually trying to get something important done!!
I was trying to pack this morning and started by putting everything on the bed. Going good so far! Hula Boy decides to look for me! “MAMA, MAMAMAMAMAMAMAMAMAMAMAMAMAMAMMAMAMAMAMAMAMAMAM!!!!!!” I yelled to him that I was in the basement. No problemo! He came toddling….

Mir you make me LAUGH!
Mir and her post these last two days nearly killed me. Between being she woman and going “postal” while getting nutty over peanut butter I have laughed until my sides ached! Mir you are an original nut ball and I love that!
Blame it on Cinderella
4 days and counting!!(just had to add that one!)
My sister and her husband just came back from Hawaii! They had a great time and enjoyed being together.
When they were gone her children stayed with me a few days here and there for a few hours.
My niece is a piece of work. She is a fireball wrapped up in a tornado! (this is not Genuine’s daughter by the way) She was playing in the back yard with Hula Boy and I overheard her conversation with him while they were playing in the playhouse.
“Now you go and make some supper. I am going to go and watch some tv and paint my nails. Then you have to scrub the floors and clean up your mess. I will go and make a cup of tea.” Well of course he did not take to kindly to all of the “work” and said his usual NO and went to hit her. I caught him in mid strike and said quickly, “No!!! You will hurt her and we do not hurt people.” He stopped and looked at her and said,”I sorry”and went to hug her. She quickly turned and said, “I don’t have time to give you a hug and anyway I don’t hug the help!!!” OH MY GOODNESS! WHERE DID SHE GET THAT???? We don’t have maids. We don’t have servants??? Blame it on Cinderella! She’s the culprit.

Mommyism's
My mom did some extreme things to get her point across. I was 15 when she decided to “show me the light!” Being a nurse and in the same hospital for 17 years she had some pull with the higher ups. She chose a full moon night as the one that I went with her to work. The extreme take your child to work night. I am so convinced that a full moon has an effect on a person after that experience.
She worked the 7pm to 7am shift the night of the full moon. When we walked into the ER they were stitching a few people up from a car accident. After that it was pretty quiet.
Then at about 11:00 the place started hopping. I could not keep up. Between the suicide attempt, drunk driving accident, drug overdose, handcuffed prisoner that had been in a fight, and a teenager in labor I saw it all that night. I also saw a pedestrian accident where a person was walking with a stroller and was hit by a truck.
That night I saw life outside of my protective shell. I saw people dealing with their consequences, making bad choices, some not having choices at all and some that were in the wrong place at the wrong time…..

Adopting a Cookie
Today I went on Nicole’s site and she is lamenting over the fact that her little one is growing up and no longer needs a blankie anymore. I wanted to cry with her. Not for the same reason though.
Hula Boy today was getting ready for his nap. We did the ritual. We read a book, turned on his CD and I followed him with the kiss monkey all the way to bed. He turned to me today and said, “No mommy. I want Cookie.” “No sweetie you can’t have cookies before bed.” “NO MOMMY, COOKIE!!” I couldn’t figure it out until he took me by the hand and led me to the couch. He grabbed my chenille blanket off of the couch and hugged it with great contentment and said, “My cookie!”
Oh crud. My wonderful snuggly blanket that I love to cuddle in every night after the kids go to bed. The one that I use to put over us when I nursed him. The one that I saved all of my gift certificates from birthday and Christmas. **shudder**
Oh well. I guess I will lose it for a few years until it is a tattered mess. Hey, may be I can swipe it from him AFTER he falls to sleep!!!
Sunshine again!
Today has been a wonderful day!!!!! We went to the local amusement park and played all day! Both children were bushed when we got home which allowed me to rest a little bit as well!
I would give today an A+ Happy times are here again!
Bad Mommy Day

I officially had the worst mothering day of my life today. Bad Mommy.
Hula Girl had her last day of school and her awards program. The program was for grades 1 - 6. No biggie I thought. WRONG!
My mother was going to watch Hula Crazy Boy. Unfortunately my wonderful mom had my sister’s children (because they are in Hawaii, dang it) and they all came down with a virus. So she could not watch Hula Crazy Boy today.
Thus was the beginning of my demise.
So it started with her awards. She got A Honor Roll and a trophy for being voted the Most Discerning child in the class, reading trophy for tons of hours spent reading, Most Improved in spelling, etc etc. (honestly I could go on but I’ll spare ya! They kind of go crazy) Did I get to see any of the program? Glad you asked. One word…NO! Hula Boy was so antsy (it was to because it lasted for 3 freaking hours) that I spent most of the time in the hall, on the playground, walking in the breezeway, and basically being anywhere but in the auditorium.
So after 3 hours of going out of my mind we came home and had lunch. No problem. Hula Boy fell right to sleep and Hula Girl and a friend played. That was the wonderful part of my day.
Then I get the bright idea to take her to dinner because she worked very hard this year and to celebrate. What in the heck was I thinking? She wanted steak and salad so we went to a steakhouse and sat down. We no sooner sat down and Hula Boy had that busy antsy bug bite him in the butt AGAIN! I swear by the end of dinner I wanted to puke. I was so sick and tired of saying “NO!” He hit his sister, he tried to throw stuff at the waiter, he threw bread over the divider and it landed on the next table in the lady’s water glass….the list goes on.
I think I was a glutton for punishment because…come on I know you want to look!
