The Genuine kiddos spent the night last night. This meant that HB had younger kiddos to play with and all of the accesories of a 1 year old. According to HB…diapers make great hats…just sayin’.
I have been very lucky as to have my niece and nephew for a few days! I love hearing the children play and do their games. I have a few things that have been said that just tickle my fancy.
Genuine Nephew - “I want to pray before dinner!!”
Me - “Ok go right ahead.”
Genuine Nephew - “Dear God, Thank you for this day. Please help Jesus not die on the cross. Help Hula Boy share the computer with me. Help us all to be good boys and girls…AMEN!”
I have to say that I had to leave the room to giggle.
Then there was the infamous prayer last night where Genuine Nephew prayed for all the animals in the world. This of course touched me.
Genuine Niece has a heart of gold. I always ask her how she keeps her body walking with such a sweet spirit. I would think the gold would wear her down!
We raced and chased last night. Now that I have been getting my weight in check (meaning I am losing not that I am at my primo weight) I have had more energy to run and play. They all ganged up on me, but in the end I won by hiding in the hall closet until they were close.
At bedtime there were gobs of kid giggles as they knew that their beds were the only place they were safe from the tickle queen. I kissed them all with sloppy wet auntie/mommy kisses with raspberries on top and put them to bed.
After the lights went out I could hear Genuine Nephew and Genuine Niece come together to sing “The Star Spangled Banner” (this would be Genuine Niece’s favorite song I believe) and “Jesus Loves Me”. Hula Girl and Hula Boy joined the chorus from their rooms. I heard the words slowly slur and then silence.
I absolutely love being a mom and an auntie. I am blessed indeed to have all good children in my life.

While the Genuine’s (or should I say Mrs. G) was in labor and up until last night we had the Genuine children. When we picked them up from the neighbor’s house because they had to make a fast dash to the hospital. Mama and Daddy Genuine were already gone so we did not have the run down on all of the particulars of their schedule and their routines. Knowing that with my own children how important their routine is I should have known to check a little more than I did.
The children all had a great day of playing and wearing each other out. It is always fun to have a playmate! Not knowing any different at bedtime I read them a story, said prayers and kissed them all goodnight. Pretty straight forward routine. Nothing fancy just a lot of cuddles and enjoyment time. At around 11:00 Genuine Boy woke up with a scream. I ran in to see what the problem was. He told me that monsters were in his room. Being that we dealt with monsters only one night with Hula Boy this was a stumper. I explained that there were no monsters and gave him Auntie squishes and asked him to not wake up his brother. After that I went to bed.
About two hours later I woke with a jolt. I heard unfamiliar noises and in my half awake state I nearly wet my pants. OH MY GOODNESS someone’s in the house. I tried to wake Hula Hubby but to no avail. He sleeps like the dead. FINE! I would handle it. I went to get the phone and take it with me. I slowly creped up the stairs and looked around the corner only to vaguely recognize the voice. Genuine Boy was having a discussion with Genuine Toddler. Genuine Toddler started to stir. OOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOO. I quickly shushed Genuine Boy and asked him to please be quiet. I could not understand why he would still be awake. OK so I was in a fog. That’s my only excuse.
At 5:30 Genuine Toddler woke up. I went to go pick him up. I was tired from the night and did not smell the vile stink that probably woke him up to begin with. I made a bottle praying that he would in fact go to sleep. I laid him in bed with me. Hula Hubby rolled over and made a face like he was going to vomit. “CRAP HE STINKS!” Hum…oh is that what that smell is?! So I changed him and we all soundly slept until 9:00.
The next day when we went to the hospital to see the new baby I was talking with the Genuines about the night before. Then came the bomb shell. Since they were in a hurry to get to the hospital they couldn’t tell me about the monster scare. Genuine stomps around and scares all of the monsters out of the room. He makes quite a big production out of it. I think Genuine Boy loves the adventure and the hunt! (*sniff what a creative daddy) Auntie Hula was not with the program. The logical discussion approach was certainly not the answer. Poor little man. He was probably scared out of his wits but did not know how to explain the Monster Hunt to me. *bangs head on wall BAD BAD AUNTIE.
Thus lesson number a zillion, the toddler’s routine is just as important as the 4 year old’s routine.

Last night around 7:15 we got ourselves a new nephew!! Here’s the works on him!
Colton Dean
7 pounds 2 oz
20 inches long
If you get a chance go see his handsome baby pictures at Genuine’s place and wish them luck with 4 kiddos!
We went over to see the little guy today. Genuine Nephew came saw and wanted to go. Genuine Niece was TOTALLY enamored and Hula Girl
asked if she could have a baby sister. Yep that’s what I get for taking her places. I told her to talk to her daddy!! *giggle
So we as proud auntie and uncles say welcome to our little man.

Hula Boy has been in hog heaven yesterday and today. He has a playmate which is unusual. Normally sissy has a playmate and he is left to straggle along and annoy.
We have had Genuine Nephew (aka Genuine Boy) over night. There’s been zero fighting, a ton of car playing, a bustle of activity and fun fun fun. I love it when the kids come to visit. Honestly it makes my life a TON easier. I can play with them or let them play together. Either way it’s a win win for me. (totally selfish thought I know)
I hope that our little cousins are as close as I was with my cousins. It has made for wonderful friendships now that we are older. In fact two weeks from today I will be in a wedding for my 45 year old cousin that is getting married for the first time!! WOO HOO! I had to go to the wedding. I just needed to. Now that I’m in it, I’m committed to the drive to Arizona.
So as I blissfully enjoy my day I want wish everyone a wonderful weekend.

What does a Hoover Vacuum and a 10 month old have in common?
EVERYTHING!
Today I have the Genuine Nephew’s and Hula Boy. What an adventure. I had almost forgotten what loving work a 10 month old is!!
Tonight is Genuine Girl’s Kindergarten Graduation. Of course it is a HUGE occasion because she is getting to be such a big girl! So Mrs. G went to spend the day with her while I have the boys. Perfect plan. It’s been wonderful. Just thought I would take a minute to update everyone.
Have a wonderful day!

What an adventure! It was a positive and wonderful adventure and I only have about 2 minutes to type as fast as I can. I want to get back to playing CHOO CHOO and roly poly! I’m a diversified auntie. I can combine choo choo and roly poly into one big crazy game!! It’s been great!
Genuine’s and Mrs. G’s kiddos spent the night. They came around 5:30. At about 6:00 we went to our local Pizza Hut to meet a friend. Yes I lugged 5 children to Pizza Hut. I had free coupons! the thought of not having to cook PLUS free….I was easily swayed!
They were of course ANGELS! The older girls held the little boys hands and were perfect little mommy/auntie helpers. Only one obstacle that was easily overcome. I forgot that Genuine Girl does not like pizza. That was easily remedied by the fact that Hula Girl (older cousin) was having pizza. So that worked out perfect. She ate like a champ!
When I told Genuine Boy that we were going to Pizza Hut he started yelling with excitement and running everywhere. I almost reconsidered, but his excitement was so catchy that I just couldn’t help it.
Genuine Baby was active in all of the excitement. I forgot how to feed a baby and eat myself. GEESH! It was like a bike. I quickly remembered.
When we got home, everyone got a bath and went quietly to bed. Genuine Boy even put himself to bed. I looked around and couldn’t find him and he had tucked himself in!
So my adventures in loving on my niece and nephews has been a hit. I am loving it. I can honestly say that I don’t know how I would do with 5 children of my own but 5 most days I think I could handle. Now I have to work on Hula Hubby. Oh rats, he had the big V. Guess 2 will just have to do.

So if tomorrow I haven’t posted by 6:00 pm send out the troops to come look for me! I may be rocking in the corner with my ears plugged!!

If you have a moment…please whisper a prayer for Genuine Nephew. He’s in the hospital today with the creeping crud. He was having difficulty breathing last night and is still having some problems.

I had a wonderful time with the kids!! They wore auntie out!! I held little AJ tonight. Although I tell you what…I did not realize how tired I was until I the little guy needed a diaper change.
So I’m changing away and Mrs. G says to me, “Here are the wipes and there is the alcohol.” No biggie. I knew the little man had a boo boo on his thingie so I opened up the alcohol and without thinking swiped his thingie with it!! GEEZ What the heck! Poor little guy must have felt his world suddenly caught on fire. He was already yelling because he hates to be changed. I quickly wiped it off with wipes and put vaseline on him. Then it hit me…Hello is anyone home??? Nope out to lunch! Hula you are tired beyond your senses tonight!!
So basically I am going to get ribbed about this one from here to eternity. Oh well. I think I had better go to bed now. Goodnight!
